To the extent you KNOW who you are, your experience in business will improve.
When you know who you are, you have a better understanding of who you are not.
And knowing who you are NOT is how you get clear on what/who should be in your Universe and what/who should be kept out of it.
Take it from someone who had no boundaries for many decades…being open to anything and everything is a direct path to misery. Because you set aside your deepest goals and take on the goals of others.
Service is one thing. That’s healthy. That’s a way of doing business where everyone wins. Ignoring why you are on this plane is not healthy. That’s how you come to resent anything and everyone. You let them all in and then you have to deal with things that don’t belong.
Unfortunately, KNOWING THYSELF is only half of the equation. The other half is BEING YOURSELF. That takes guts. Most importantly, it takes the ability to say what is probably the most difficult word in the entire English language:
“No.”
If you make a habit of saying Yes when you mean No, it won’t take long for you to wander so far off your path you’ll wake up one day and realize everything has to change if you want to keep going.
Business is the greatest school of BEING I’m aware of.
If you don’t know who you are, start looking. Don’t be afraid of what you find. You want to stick out in the business world? The blueprint for doing that is already inside of you.
It needs to be uncovered. It needs to be put under the spotlight. It needs to be shown to the world.
It needs to be lived. That’s why you’re here.
