How to Write Emails That Sell YOU Without Coming Across as a Slimy Salesperson
Using email to sell yourself can be a double-edged sword. Do it well, and you’ll be surprised at the magic it creates. Do it poorly and you can turn off your prospective clients in a blink. Or worse, you can put them to sleep! You won’t know there’s a problem, because they probably won’t tell you. Instead, they’ll just leave…
What this means is that there are basically only two types of emails you can write: the first type moves you AWAY from attracting clients and building trust, the other type moves you CLOSER to that goal.
On November 28 at 2PM Eastern, I’m hosting the “How to Write Emails That Sell” Workshop online. During the Workshop, I’ll offer a framework for writing powerful emails to your prospects, customers and clients. The goal is to be able to do it well and to do it quickly. Over the years, I’ve developed an approach to writing email that allows you to build attraction to what you have WITHOUT all of the slime that fills most inboxes these days.
If you want to develop a style of email writing that sets you apart from everyone else, this is what we’ll be focusing on.
To be clear, this offering isn’t for everyone. If you’re one of the “hard core closer” types, you’re not going to like it. I most likely “offended” you out of my Universe a long time ago with my approach to selling, but just in case you’re still here, don’t buy this!
There won’t be any gimmicks or hacks or slippery slope persuasion tricks that will suck money out of anyone’s pocket like a vacuum cleaner. You can buy those elsewhere, but do that at your own risk! Some of those things work, but you’ll pay a price for taking those shortcuts.
Instead of the slime, we’ll be setting our sights on something far more powerful:
The art of demonstration via the printed word, done in such a way that builds attraction to YOU.
Whether or not we know it, we’re ALL selling ALL OF THE TIME. What we’re selling, however, expands far beyond what the gurus tell you.
Yes, you have products or services for sale. But you also have a perspective on the world for sale. You also have a set of values and ideals for sale. You also have strong beliefs about your particular area of expertise for sale. You also have a long history of experience that informs the way you approach providing your solution to customers and clients.
Unless you’re selling a commodity type widget, all that other stuff is really what your clients and customers are buying. They receive your product or service as a result of that sale!
Email is how you generate attraction based on the smart use of polarity. If you want to understand more about how to do this on purpose, strategically, methodically, that’s what we’re going to cover.
Attraction means they move closer to you under their own steam. You don’t push them. You don’t coerce them. You don’t force them in any way. Instead, you simply lay out the “breadcrumbs” that activate their own internal desires to move closer to what you have.
This is an elegant, masterful and completely sustainable way to help people and make money at the same time.

- The first part, the framework and content portion, happens on the 28th of November. That’s where I’ll cover the METHOD for writing these kinds of emails.
- The second part is where the framework gets applied to your unique business. There’s no right way to do this for everyone, there’s only the right way to do it for YOU. So the second half of the offering will be a 30 minute private consultation with me to review an email sample that you submit after the workshop. You’ll write it, send it in, and we’ll walk through my edits and critique together during the consultation.

By the end of the two parts, you’ll understand the strategy behind how you do this and you’ll have an example for how that strategy gets applied to your business. From there, success is largely a result of practice and refinement over time. I’ve been writing daily emails for the past 12 years, so I know the result that practice can generate.
At the close of our work together, you’ll have what you need to start writing engaging emails that build trust, sell you and build your position as a trusted advisor in the minds of your prospective clients and customers.
With every email you write, you’re either pushing them away or drawing them closer.
